Eleven years of one colony

Wall hammer, nine heads — Euphyllia ancora

The wall hammer we listed this month is nine heads on one skeleton. Its great-grandparent was a single head, bought from a shop that has since closed, in a tank that no longer exists.

We have no paperwork from before 2018 and we say so on the record rather than inventing a farm name. Traceability that starts partway through is still worth more than traceability that is fabricated from the beginning.

Everything cut from it since 2018 carries a parent number. In another decade that will be a lineage; right now it is a habit we are glad we started.
