Terms of Service
pet.live is a catalogue and a record. It lists animals, publishes what we know about each one, and links out to wherever that animal is actually sold. No sale is concluded here, so nothing on this site is an offer in the contractual sense — the terms of the sale are the ones on the channel you are sent to.
Prices, availability and photographs describe an animal at the moment the page was written. Living things change; a colony can grow, colour up, or be reserved by someone else between two page loads. Where a record and reality disagree, reality wins and we correct the record.
What you can rely on
Our side of it
- The number is permanent
A PetLive number is issued once and never reissued. The page it names stays reachable after the animal sells.
- The photograph is that animal
Not a stock image of its species. Lighting and date are stated; nothing is retouched toward a colour it does not have.
- The parameters are real
They are what the animal has been kept in, logged daily — not a species-typical range copied from a book.
- The shipping policy is followed
Including the parts that cost us money. See the DOA policy, which is written down precisely so it is not decided case by case.
The usual questions
Can I reuse your photographs?
Not without asking. Every image here is of an animal we raised and photographed, and the record is the reason the photograph is worth anything. Write to us — for most non-commercial uses the answer is yes.
Can I link to a record?
Please do. That is what a permanent address is for, and the link will keep working after the animal is sold.
Is the content here advice?
The guides describe what has worked in our systems. They are not a warranty, and a tank that is not ours may need something different — which is why every guide says what it is reasoning from.
The one that costs us money
What happens when an animal does not arrive alive, written down in advance.
