About

What we are

A record office that happens to sell animals

Most livestock is sold as a type: a name, a stock photograph, a price. We sell individuals. Each animal gets a number the day it enters our system, and that number is its address for as long as the site exists — through resale, re-identification, and being sold twice.

  • A permanent page per animal, kept after it sells
  • Photographs taken under stated lighting, dated
  • Water parameters logged daily and published

How we got here

Eleven years, briefly

  1. 2015 — one tank

A single hammer head bought from a shop that has since closed, in a tank that no longer exists.

  2. 2018 — the first record

We started writing down where each cutting came from. Everything before that is a gap we say is a gap.

  3. 2021 — the raceways

Four of them, which is what made holding an animal for six weeks before listing it possible.

  4. 2024 — permanent numbers

Every animal gets an address on its first day, and keeps it after it sells.

Why an animal deserves an address that outlives the transaction.
