Collections
Ways into the catalogue that are not a category — beginner-friendly, aquacultured, one of one.
A category says what an animal is. A collection says why you might want it — new to reefkeeping, tank-raised rather than collected, or simply the only one of its kind we have. Some collections are hand-picked and some are a standing rule the catalogue answers on its own, which is why one can be empty this week and full the next.
Two kinds of collection
Hand-picked, or a standing rule
- Picked by hand
Someone went through the floor and chose these. They change when we change them, and they can be empty.
- A standing rule
Aquacultured, captive-bred — the catalogue answers these itself, so a collection can be empty one week and full the next.
- The record is the same
However you arrive at an animal, it carries the same number, the same photographs and the same log.
Or by category
What we carry
Nothing here fits?
The full catalogue is one list, and every animal in it carries the same record whichever way you arrived.
