Holding, handling and acclimation standards we hold ourselves to.
Nothing appears on this site the week it arrives. An animal that has just been moved is an animal under stress, and a photograph of it is a photograph of the move rather than of the animal.
Six weeks before anything is listed
Six weeks minimum under our lighting, and the median is forty-two days. Colour and extension have to hold over that period, not merely survive it. An animal that is still adjusting at the end of it stays where it is.
The water is logged daily and published
KH 8.4, calcium 430, magnesium 1350, 25–26 °C. Logged daily, and printed on every animal’s page — because matching these before it ships is the single biggest thing a buyer can do, and it cannot be done with numbers nobody published.
Seven days observed after a reservation
A reserved animal comes off the display floor into a named hold tank, where it is observed and photographed again before it is packed.
Holds expire, and that is a welfare rule
Seven days without payment, and then it goes back on the floor. An animal in a hold tank is not being seen by anyone, and indefinite holds turn a display system into storage.
