Color & Photography
What you see is what ships. We state the lighting on every photograph.
Every photograph on this site is of that specific animal, taken under the lighting stated beside it and dated. We do not use stock photography, and we do not use one animal to represent another.
The lighting is stated because it changes everything
Unless the caption says otherwise, photographs are taken under 20K white with the blues at forty percent. The same coral under heavy actinic is a different photograph of the same animal — which is why the lighting is written down rather than left for you to guess.
Colour is not post-processed
We do not adjust saturation or hue. A photograph that has been colour-corrected is no longer evidence, and evidence is the only reason this photograph exists.
Re-photographed before it travels
A reserved animal is held for seven days, observed and photographed again. What you saw on the listing and what leaves the building are checked against each other rather than assumed to match.
What we will not promise
Whether it will look like that in your tank: not immediately, and possibly not ever. Colour is a response to light, flow and feeding. That is a fact about corals, not a disclaimer.
What this means in practice

- The lighting is on the recordStated beside every photograph, so you can tell a lighting difference from a colour difference.
- Colour is not correctedWe do not post-process colour. Saturation and hue are left alone.
